Share to Outlook in Microsoft Teams

Microsoft announced a supportive feature which is “Share to Outlook” in Microsoft Teams, using this feature you can share the chat and channel conversation as an email to other users.

How to share the chat conversation as an email to other users?

You can share a chat conversation as an email to other users. Go to Microsoft Teams → Chat →Select required user → Select required conversation → More (…) → Share to Outlook.

Now the send mail option will be opened, you can add or edit the below fields:

How to share channel conversation as an email to other users?

Share to Outlook option also available in the Teams channel conversation. Using this feature, you can share the conversation as an email to other users. It will support the whole thread of the conversation as an email.

Go to Microsoft Teams → Teams → Select required channel → Select required conversation → More (…) → Share to Outlook.

Now the send mail option will be opened, you can add or edit the below fields:

Note: By default, the conversation heading as subject to the mail or If the conversation does not have the heading, it will automatically pick the subject like Team name>channel name: channel conversation from Microsoft teams.

The end user will receive the mail as like below image.

Microsoft Teams channel conversation:

The email recipient will receive the conversation thread in their mail. This mail is assessed to view the message and It will not support default conversation action like edit, like, reply. We can just play with the Go to Teams button. If the recipients (email received users) available in shared conversation Teams, Go to Team option will work and navigate to the channel conversation, otherwise it will not navigate to the specific conversation.
